Fat transfer is less invasive than implants, provides a more natural feel, and enables the breasts to retain sensitivity. The surgery is typically performed under general anesthesia to keep the patient comfortable and pain-free. A board-certified anesthesiologist administers intravenous medication to induce unconsciousness before the operation begins. Vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen levels, are closely monitored throughout the procedure.
There is also an option to get twilight anesthesia, which is a combination of local numbing and IV sedation. It results in a shorter recovery period and involves less risk. Under twilight anesthesia, patients remain conscious in the state of light sleep. They feel calm and painless.
